The University of Alabama Superintendents’ Academy (UASA) is a collaborative effort between the Instructional Services Division of the Alabama State Department of Education and The University of Alabama, College of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership, Policy and Technology Studies and Education Policy Center.
The administrative offices of the UASA are located in Wilson Hall on the campus of The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
UASA ADVISORY COUNCIL
The UASA advisory council advises the UASA on matters relating to both the content and delivery of UASA programs. The advisory council assists with strategic insights that will ensure the success of the UASA in meeting future challenges and opportunities.
The advisory council fosters productive relationships with the stakeholders of public education and it is a strong advocate of improvement in public school student achievement through high quality, accountable professional development programs.

ADMISSION
The UASA is a non-degree professional development program open to all resident Alabama educators who are eligible to become an elected or appointed superintendent in the state of Alabama. It is a tuition-free training program where participants are selected based on professional qualifications and accomplishments. The UASA’s goal is to create a diverse pool of Alabama applicants ready to assume district-wide leadership positions. Participant application for the class of 2008-2009 is encouraged at this time.
