Dr. Michael Wilson

Michael Wilson has been with Birmingham City Schools since 1991.  He earned his Bachelors Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas Texas.  Dr. Wilson completed his Masters and EdS in special education from The University of Alabama, Birmingham, an EdS in Educational Administration from the University of Montevallo. In 2003 he was awarded a PhD in Instructional Leadership from the University of Alabama.  Michael has served as a special education teacher, assistant principal and now principal at Whatley K-8 School in Birmingham.  During his first year as principal Whatley was one of 6 schools across the state to move from Alert II status to Academic Clear.  Dr. Wilson serves on several advisory committees such as Partners in Education, Family Involvement, and Community Education South.  He has been elected president of the Administrators Division of the Alabama Education Association.
