Tom Ferguson is a native of Birmingham currently serving as Assistant Superintendent of Operations in the Shelby County School System. After graduating from Ensley High School, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Samford University. He continued his education at the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he received his Master’s degree and his Ed.S. in Educational Leadership. Mr. Ferguson taught at Jones Valley Elementary before being named Principal at T.R. Wright Elementary and then was later named Principal at Banks High School all in Birmingham City. He also served a s Principal at Albertville High School in Albertville and Pelham High School in Shelby County before his move to the Central Office. He has held several leadership positions in Shelby County. Mr. Ferguson has recently completed the ASBO Certification Program. He has also been nominated for the 2005-06 Leadership Shelby cohort. He is married to Signa Paulk Ferguson and they have a daughter Katie and a son Daniel.
