Marguerite W. Early received her Doctorate of Education with a major in Educational Administration in 2003 and an Educational Specialist Degree in the Area of Administration and Educational Leadership in 1999 from the University of Alabama. Before her principalship, she was assistant principal for two and a half years at Rainbow Middle School. Prior to her administrative positions,she spent a total of 20 years as a Special Education Teacher and then as a Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher.

Dr. Early was selected as the 2004 Alabama Middle School Principal of the Year and was recently recognized by the National Association of Secondary School Principals and Met-Life at their annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. She presently serves as President-elect of the Alabama Association of Middle Level Administrators and will serve as their President for 2005-06. She is married to Tom Early and has one son, Dustin Johnson.
