Joseph Redcross grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He attended Oakwood College inHuntsville, Alabama. There he received an elementary education degree. Further education was put on hold due to service in the military. Dr. Redcross continued his education in Huntsville, Alabama and attended Alabama A & M University. He completed an educational specialist degree and received a doctorate degree in EducationalLeadership in 2002 from The University ofAlabama. His diverse background has included private, public, and special education school administration.
Dr. Redcross’s interest is in school law, and he has recently completed some law classes at the post doctorate level. He has spoken in this and other areas at various universities. He maintains active membership in ELA (Educational Law Association) which keeps him informed of school legal school issues and changes concerning the law. His wife is a former school administrator and college instructor who holds a doctorate degree. He has three children. She is currently a stay at home mom.
