Sharon C. Bell has been employed with the Birmingham City School System for over thirty years. She began her career as an English and Journalism teacher at Phillips High School. She was promoted to Facilitator at Jones Valley Magnet High School, a school she took pride in planning and designing. Dr. Bell received her Masters Degree and Ed.S.Certification in Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she serves on the Parish Development Board.
Dr. Bell is married to former Birmingham City Council President and Interim Mayer, Dr. William A. Bell and has two children: Jillian, a graduate of the University of Alabama who is currently acting in New York, and Tony who graduated in December 2004 from University of Alabama School of Law.
